About ArsOmni Press |
Ars Omnia Press was founded by a group of slightly off-beat New York artists, writers, and academics for the sole purpose of “expanding the domain of human creativity.” You see, we felt that there were unique creative voices out there whose work wasn’t being adequately supported because, for one reason or another, they were deemed “non-commercial” by those supposed arbiters of good taste who control the publishing industry in the United States.
We thought that there should be someplace where these eclectic creative voices could be heard, irrespective of all questions of “marketability” or “profitablility.” And so we came together to create Ars Omnia Press. And, like our sister press, SophiaOmni, we follow a strict distributivist business model, which basically means that we have to be concerned about things like treating those who work with us fairly and producing works that have the potential to increase the sum total of human wisdom rather than diminishing it. Ars Omnia publishes works from all literary genres. Although our focus is on experimental literature, we also publish a wide range of contemporary authors, poets, and graphic artists whose work, though perhaps not overtly experimental, nonetheless speaks to the ethos of our age. As this enterprise develops, we plan to publish novels; chapbooks of all genres; books of poetry and prose, both individual authors and anthologies; and books of graphic and comic art. In addition to the work of contemporary authors and artists, we also plan to publish a variety of collegiate educational materials such as textbooks and anthologies for humanities survey courses. We warmly welcome you to our Press. Feel free to explore what we have to offer and let us know what you think. Damian Ward Hey Managing Editor . |
